Make a Difference with a Gift

Those of you who would like to “open your heart” this Christmas, Lazarus House is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Cash gifts are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.. Gifts of any size are welcome to keep the doors open 24 hours every day of the year. Here are examples of how your gifts help:

• $45 provides a day of service to a shelter guest
• $315 provides a week of service for a child or adult
• $775 provides a month of service to an outreach client

Unique Calendar - Perfect for that Person with a Great Sense of Humor

The Pillow Story - Perfect Child's Gift

Join three geese on a journey who encounter a homeless man in need of assistance in the inspirational tale, "The Pillow Story," by St. Charles author Rick Moser.  This fable makes a great gift for any child.  Books cost $10 each. If you would like your donation to be in memory of someone or be applied to a specific project or need, please note the specifics in the memo line or an accompanying note. Please provide your phone number should there be any questions.

The administrative office mails tax receipt letters the month after receiving a monetary donation to all financial contributors who provide an address.  Donors should retain their letter.

Donated Goods

Lazarus House accepts many donations of food and goods, but there are some items that we are unable to accept due to storage constraints. Please see our Daily Food Needs and Needs List for more detail.

Donors who would like a receipt for tax records or other purposes, should obtain one from the staff person who accepts the donation.  Donors should retain this one-part receipt.  Staff are not able to prepare in-kind receipts at a later time.
