Volunteer Orientation

All those interested in volunteer opportunities at Lazarus House are invited to attend a volunteer orientation on Saturday May 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The orientation will be held at Lazarus House 214 Walnut St., St. Charles.

You will tour the shelter and participate in a discussion and description of all the areas of opportunities to volunteer at Lazarus House.

Sage Bistro Grand Opening Benefit

On Sunday May 18 from 5 to 8 PM, Sage Bistro, an exciting new restaurant concept in downtown St. Charles, will host a Grand Opening Benefit with all the proceeds going equally to Lazarus House, CASA Kane County, The Salvation Army Tri-City Corps, and TriCity Family Services. The event will feature; heavy hors d' oeuvres representing samplings from their tantalizing menu, wine tastings by Sage Bistro vendors, and weather permitting Jazz on the outdoor deck.

Take this opportunity to preview this exciting new restaurant while supporting Lazarus House, CASA, The Salvation Army and Tri-City Family Services. The cost is $20.00 minimum donation per person. Sage Bistro (the former Erik and Me) is located at 1 W. Illinois St. St. Charles sitting right on the Fox River. We look forward to seeing you on May 18th from 5 to 8 PM. Lazarus House Open House

We invite you to join us on Satruday, June 21st from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at our Open House at 214 Walnut St. St. Charles.. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Lazarus House and what we do as you tour each of the buildings. You will tour the Emergency Shelter, the Center for Transitional Living, the Women and Children's Day Center and the newest facility, our Outreach Center.

As you tour you will learn of the services and programs offered in each of these areas and have the opportunity to ask questions. If you know someone who may need our help, if you been thinking about volunteering, or if you just want to know what Lazarus House does, please join us on Saturday, June 21st. Race Across the West Benefit

On June 8th, Paul Carpenter, a Department Chair from Northern Illinois University will compete in the "Race Across the West," 1,037 mile bicycling race. The race begins in Oceanside, CA and finishes in Taos, NM. To be an official finisher he must complete the race in less than 4 days. He is asking people to sponsor him by supporting Lazarus House or the February 14th NIU Student Schlorship Fund. For more details, or a sponsorship form............

Swedish Days Parade

Look for our Lazarus House float on Sunday, June 22, at the Geneva Swedish Days Parade. We will participate in our first Swedish Days Parade and we look forward to seeing many of our volunteers and friends along the parade route. The parade steps off at 1:00 PM and we hope to see you there.
