We are grateful for all the donations made to Lazarus House in St. Charles, Illinois.


Churches and Community Groups provide meals, vounteers to help serve dinner, and overnight vounteers each night to augment the staff person.

Daily Food Needs

  • We are currently serving approximately 60 dinners and breakfasts and providing 40 sack lunches
  • Bring dinner in a disposable container to the shelter hot and ready to eat by 6:45 pm; Guests eat at 7:00 pm
  • Lunches are suggested to contain a sandwich, chips and a drink. The may be dropped off any time during the day. Lunches will be passed out on the following day.
  • Please bring the sandwiches in a separate bag, as we need to refrigerate them.
  • If you are bringing milk or orange juice, please call ahead to find out what our need is.

If you are scheduled to serve, please arrive at 6:45 pm.
Generally, the dinner time meal shift goes until 9:00 pm.
The overnight volunteer shift is generally 9 pm to 7 am.

Please notify staff if you need to come late or leave early.

  • Dress in comfortable clothing
  • Bedding is provided
  • Lights are out at 11:00 pm
  • Breakfast is served at 6:30 am

Please notify Lazarus House staff ASAP if you are unable to come and have not been able to locate a substitute. It is necessary to have an overnight volunteer every night.
