Happy fall! The leaves will soon be turning and the weather growing cooler. Utility bills will climb as furnaces go into high gear, and many of our neighbors will find themselves financially strapped. Summer 2007Tuesday, May 8th was a red letter day in the history of Lazarus House because we broke ground on the addition to the Women and Children's Day Center. We opened the Center last October and it has been a wonderful daily blessing, providing a warm, nurturing home environment for our women and their children during the day and evening. We received word that the ongoing rental subsidy program we have through the Illinois Housing Development Authority can be offered in Geneva as well as St. Charles. That means we can help our Geneva neighbors in need stay in their housing.
