No summer break for Lazarus House
Summer is usually a time of some rest and relaxation, a time when we can kick back and take it easy--unless you're at Lazarus House. Then it's a time of busy activity and pool passes to be applied for (thanks to our friends at the St.Charles Park District who always donate those to our families), summer camps to enroll in (thanks to our friends at the Salvation Army and Riverwoods who provide scholarships), parenting classes (thanks to our friends at Tri City Family Services) and healthy relationship classes (thanks to our friends at the Community Crisis Center). We have some internal programs................

Lazarus House is blessed by and depends on the gifts and grants we receive. We recently received word that we are tentatively slated to receive a new rental subsidy grant this October of about $500,000 from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. Now before you start jumping up and down yelling "They're rich", please know that the vast majority of this money flows THROUGH us into the community to help keep people affected by the recent economic crisis in housing....
