Lazarus House utilizes volunteers 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Whether it is the Shelter, office, Learning Lab or a special event, Lazarus House could not survive without our incredible network of volunteers. We are so blessed to have a community that reaches out to offer hope and a future to our neighbors in need.

Lazarus House offers orientations for new volunteers approximately every 6 weeks where options are presented and information is shared that will help you feel comfortable in a role at the shelter. After completing orientation, you can begin volunteering in a position that matches your interests, skills and schedule.

Orientations are held at the Lazarus House Community Resource Center, 308 Walnut St., St. Charles. At orientation, interested persons learn about the volunteer opportunities at Lazarus House. You will tour the shelter and participate in a discussion and description of all the areas of opportunities to volunteer at Lazarus House.

The morning session begins promptly at 9:30am and finishes at 11am; the afternoon session begins promptly at 1pm and finishes at 2:30pm. Attendees should plan on being here on time as the sessions will begin promptly at start time in order to finish on time. Each session is limited to 25 people due to space limitations. You must register to attend. Registration closes when it reaches 25. If you have registered and find you are unable to attend, please let us know so that we can open space for another interested party.
